Repairing MacBooks
The Apple MacBook notebook computer comes in a range of models, the MacBook Air 11, the MacBook Air 13, the classic white MacBook 13, the short-lived aluminum Unibody MacBook 13 and the powerful MacBook Pro range in 13, 15 and 17 inch models.
All MacBooks are really well designed and built and have an enviable reputation for ease of use and dependability. Unfortunately, accidents will occur and repairs become necessary. Or a component breaks down and has to be replaced.
If the breakdown happens during the warranty period then Apple will carry out the needed repairs, but if your warranty has run out then you can either pay Apple's repair charge (often not cheap!) or else carry out the repair yourself. That way, with a little patience and care, you can save yourself some money.
Repairing a MacBook is not for the faint of heart but it's quite feasible. Take time to keep track of all the parts. Make drawings or take digital snaps at every step of the take-apart process so you'll know where all the bits fit when it's time to put your MacBook together again.
